How do golf instructors track lesson packages and credits?
On SwingMatch, package credits are tracked automatically — there is no counting and no spreadsheet. A package starts either way: you assign one to a student from their profile, or the student buys it themselves from your profile or booking link. From there, every lesson booked against it deducts one credit on its own. Both you and the student see the same remaining balance at all times, so a package can’t quietly run past what was paid for.
What happens if a lesson booked with a package credit is cancelled?
The credit is automatically restored to the student’s package. Nobody has to remember to add it back or work out what the student is still owed — the balance corrects itself, which is where most manual package tracking goes wrong.
Can I change the number of credits or the price for one student?
Yes. You can set the lesson count and the price for an individual student when you assign a package, and you can edit both afterwards — including on a package the student bought themselves. A discounted 10-pack for a long-standing student, a comped credit to make up for a rained-out lesson, or a mid-season adjustment are all handled the same way.
What breaks if a lesson booking tool has no package or credit structure?
Without package structure, prepaid lessons get tracked in a notebook, a spreadsheet, or memory — and that is where revenue leaks. Lessons get delivered past what the student actually paid for, cancelled lessons are forgotten and never credited back, and disputes come down to whose record is right. A tool that tracks credits at the booking itself removes the guesswork for both sides.
Can students buy a lesson package online?
Yes. Students can purchase a package themselves from your profile or booking link and pay by card through Stripe, with credits activating as soon as the payment clears — no back-and-forth required. You can also assign a package to a student directly if you would rather set it up for them. Payments taken outside the app work too: cash, e-transfer, or through your club’s point-of-sale system. You record it as paid, the credits go live, and you can send a reminder when someone still owes you.
